Humen Fashion Capital – Where Global Garment Production Begins

2026-08-20

Humen is more than a manufacturing hub—it is a complete ecosystem. Known as the "Fashion Capital of China," this Dongguan township has spent decades building the infrastructure, expertise, and reputation that make it one of the world's most important garment production centers.

The Numbers Behind the Ecosystem

The scale of Humen's garment industry is staggering. According to official data, the township is home to nearly 3,000 garment and apparel manufacturing enterprises, with total production space of 2.51 million square meters and a workforce exceeding 200,000 people. Beyond the manufacturers themselves, there are over 1,000 auxiliary enterprises—fabric suppliers, logistics providers, embroidery workshops, printing houses, and dyeing facilities—creating a complete industrial chain.

The commercial infrastructure is equally impressive: 36 professional markets for garments, fabrics, and accessories, spanning over 680,000 square meters of operating space, serving nearly 15,000 merchants and representing more than 50,000 registered apparel brands.

In 2024 alone, Humen's 87 textile and garment manufacturing enterprises above designated size generated 13.575 billion RMB in total output value, with revenue growing 26.9% year-over-year.

The 2025 "Three Events" – A Global Fashion Summit

In November 2025, Humen hosted the World Garment Conference, the 28th China (Humen) International Garment Fair, and the 2025 Greater Bay Area (Humen) Fashion Week—three major events held simultaneously, attracting over 200,000 visitors and industry leaders from 25 countries and regions.

The World Garment Conference focused on the deep integration of artificial intelligence with the garment industry, featuring expert discussions on full-chain digital transformation, AI-driven operational optimization, 3D technology for cost reduction, and intelligent agent applications.

The AI Fashion Town Initiative

During the "Three Events," the Humen Garment Design City officially opened—a project positioned as the "core engine" for transforming Humen into an international AI Fashion Town.

Developed by Guangdong Fumin Group and Diexunwang, the facility spans approximately 8,000 square meters across two floors of the Fumin Baijia Mall. Built around the concept of "Hi Humen, AI Fashion," it serves as a full-industry-chain ecosystem platform. The Design City integrates trend forecasting, AI creative generation, intelligent pattern-making, digital fabric libraries, and smart manufacturing.

Fumin Group, a dominant force in Humen's garment industry with nearly three decades of experience, operates multiple core professional markets including Fumin Fashion City and Fumin Fabric Market. The company has incubated dozens of nationally recognized brands, including the iconic YISHION.

The "Small Order, Fast Response" Revolution

Humen is embracing the "small order, fast response" production model that modern brands demand. As岑定基, General Manager of Hengyue Garments, explains: "In recent years, clients' order patterns have fundamentally shifted—from large orders to 'small batch, fast reorder' mode. This poses enormous challenges to traditional production methods, where data was siloed across departments and production progress was opaque."

Hengyue responded by launching a digital transformation in 2021, implementing the KMES intelligent manufacturing system across nine core modules—from finance and R&D to cutting, production, and shipping—while also investing in intelligent hanging systems, automatic cutting machines, and automated fabric spreaders. The result: true small-batch, multi-batch flexible production.
